Hoppy Feet Black India Pale Ale

Thanks to Dan Nevin for bringing over this bottle the other night. Purchased from the Rock Island Hy-vee. I later called Thad Miller, in the hope to get him to pull this beer from the shelves.
7.0% ABV

Appearance: Black in color with a beige head with a strong initial stature. Dissipation results in a dense foam and specked bubbles. Silhouetted wet lacing.
Aroma: Chocolate and roasty undertones. Oxidation and leafy green hops come through. Astringent and stale. This may be for the fact that this beer was bottled back in May 2011 (8 months ago!) Smells like Pine Sol
Taste: Soapy! and spiced. The complex hops have really left this beer and only maintained a very grassy, green leafy flavor that is very deterring. Kinda tastes like burned coffee with a lot of cream in it to mask the flavor. Astringent and burnt. The after taste is long and pretty disgustingly bitter.
Mouthfeel: High carbonation. The flavor is so off I can't even concentrate on any of the other characteristics.
Overall Impression: I know this beer is a bit old, but it I couldn't even get a quarter way through the bomber. Waste of money in my book. Ages terribly.
